Screens:

By the use of screens one can increase the uniformity of the chips.  The screens are mounted so that they prevent discharge of material which does not for reasons of size, or form, go through the screen.  The material is then reduced to size by passing it through two  sets of secondary cutters.

1)  Rooster comb screen.

Improves uniformity of the chips.  Can be used for any chip size.  The chipper can be operated at any speed from 540 rpm to 1000 rpm.  The screen causes almost no reduction in blowing distance.  There is some increase in need for power.   Part # 03297650.

2) Rooster Wing Screen

Improves uniformity of chips and this screen makes it possible to drastically reduce the amount of long slivers and twigs in the chipped product.  The chipper can be operated at any speed from 540 rpm to 1000 rpm.  The screen is somewhat more effective at higher speeds.  The screen causes a reduction in blowing distance.   The screen increases the need for power.  Part # 03298150.
