A control bar runs across the top of the feed chute.  Pushing the control bar forward engages a mechanical stopper that covers the feed opening.  The front of the feed chute is covered by a flap, which is hinged at the top.  The flap reduces the noise which is heard by the operator.  The hinged flap does not interfere with the feeding of the material.
